It Changed My Life Forever–Addison Segebarth, 9 years old

When my mom told me we were going to spend 6 weeks in Ethiopia I got excited and nervous. I didn’t know what to expect but when we got there I realized that I really liked it. I especially liked working in Korah. I got to do mostly everything my mom did. Like I got to go on home visits ( More than 100!), I worked with the mission Ethiopia ladies, I met friends in the Project 61 sponsor program and got to play with them everyday. I also met a little girl names Kidest and I wanted to bring her home.
Korah is really a poor community and it really made me think of how fortunate we are here. I could not believe how people lived in mud houses or that 7 people slept in one twin size bed. I was so happy to be a part of changing some lives while we were there. I got to help bring and set up 17 new beds, mattresses and blankets to people that didn’t have them. I helped feed the sponsor kids everyday, I was a part of many VBS programs and I painted faces.
I also met my BSF ( penpal) this summer. We were so excited to meet each other! When no one was looking I would sneak her candy. I really had a great experience in Korah. It changed my life forever. When I had to leave I was so sad. I really hope that I can go back very very soon, I really miss the people a lot.
